Screenrights

DESCRIPTION

Custance advised Screenrights in their office relocation through our proprietary strategic facilities planning process which after extensive client interviews produced a target space forecast and a preferred Sydney location analysis. This analysis included staff and member demographics. To reflect their role in collecting royalties for film and video producers who are their members, Screenrights was seeking a vibrant, creative precinct with a new office that would welcome interaction with their members and their staff. The selected idiosyncratic building in the artistic Chippendale area provided the ideal framework for their inclusive new office that welcomes visitors from the lift which opens up into the staff breakout area. Acoustic panels hung from the ceiling are printed with images of iconic Australian films and TV and the front of house area is stage set with lighting that mimics movie or stage lighting. Clever reuse of existing furniture and fittings in the building contributed to the cost-effective budget and sustainability. The project was shortlisted in the 2015 IDEA awards for workplaces under 1,000 sq.m.
